Boris Johnson: New UK Prime Minister

Boris Johnson has been announced as the new UK Prime Minister following his comfortable leadership election victory over Jeremy Hunt. The 55 year old will begin his new role tomorrow and start the difficult task of renegotiating the UK’s Brexit deal ahead of the October 31st deadline. The pound remained subdued following the news, with markets now focused on the new prime ministers first speech in office and his initial cabinet appointees.
